Your a Ford nut huh? I'm somewhat of a ford nut myself. I got my handle because I drive a 1979 Ford F150. Granted i dont drive it as much as I used to with the outrageous price of fuel, but she's just so much fun to drive that I cant help but get her out once in a while. There's just something about the old trucks. A lot of people classify the '79 as the last of the good years and I have to agree.
A few years ago, pretty much like she sits now except i took the shell off and she sits on 35" BFG M/T's rather than these 33's.

DUDE!!!!!!!!! I love your truck!!!!!!!!!!!!
that thing is absolutely gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!
My 93 f150 has a bit of nastalgia to it... I swapped in a high pinion D44 solid front axle from a 79 f150 into, getting rid of the twin I-beam crap. A very big and expensive job!
and I'm still jealous of that awesome buck too!!!!!

Re: 79ford?
Thanks for the compliments man. It's all shined up in the first pic because I had just come home from boot camp (due to an injury) and was living with my in-laws. Needless to say I needed the money cuz i was out of work for 6 months and was really wanting to get out of their house. Now i'm glad nobody offered me what I wanted for it.
One of the worst ideas Ford had was the twin i-beam. They had a bulletproof front end that was easy to align and keep aligned. Then they choose to go to the twin i-beam setup and not only does it wear out your tires faster (just the outside edge), but in the one I used to drive it affected the steering at speed on bumpy roads. Not a fan!! IMO the price to swap in the high pinion Dana 44 is well worth it. That's what's in the front of my truck and a Ford 9" sits out back. Hooked up to a NP205 transfer case, 4 speed tranny with the good ol' granny gear, and a slightly modified 400cid V8. It used to be that it cost too much to work on, but with gas prices it's more cost effective to work on than it is to drive. So she's more or less a glorified yard ornament anymore.
Oh you mean this buck?

Haha, spamming the fishing page with trucks and hunting. Think Brett will ever forgive me? Probably take away that nice fishing decal......

Re: 79ford?
So Chet, post up some pics of your truck. I have only seen a couple of straight axle conversions and they were on early 90's Chevy's. If I remember correctly the conversion on those ended up raising the front end quite a bit, requiring 8" lift springs for the rear. It's been a few years so i could be wrong.
Anyways, post 'em up, I'd like to see it.
