We hit Flaming Gorge again this weekend. The Kokes are hitting pretty good. We used pop gear on downriggers down about 50'. We didn't knock 'em dead, but we were out for about 3-4 hours and hooked about 6-8 fish and ended up keeping 3.
We left my parents house at 3:30am and were hoping to be on the water by 6:00. At 4:30 we blew a trailer tire just outside of Roosevelt. In all the early morning comotion we had forgotten to throw in the spare. None of the tire shops in Roosevelt opened until 8:00 so we decided to drive into Vernal and get a new tire at the Wal-Mart. Well apparently small town Wal-Marts arent open 24 hours so we had to wait until 6:00 to get in the door, and then wait until 6:30 for someone with keys to get us a tire. Top that off with them not having the right size and we were doing great. We got a size smaller tire (no big deal since it's just on a trailer) and we were off to mount it ourselves ont he side of the road. While trying to get the tire mounted we realized it had lost the valve stem when it blew and we hadn't noticed it when we took it off because it was dark. So we went into roosevelt and luckily a tire shop attendant was there 1/2 hour early and mounted it and installed a new valve stem for us. So after we got it repaired and abck on the road it was 8:00, 3-1/2 hours just for a tire. Needless to say we were all very frustrated and short tempered the rest of the morning, but as soon as we hit the lake everyone cooled down and was fine. It was a great trip with a few minor setbacks, and next time we are going to make sure to spend the night. Makes a very long day to drive out abd back all in the same day.

Not to point any fingers....... but my wife was in charge of taking pictures. Apparently she remembered the camera but forgot it was her job to take pictures. We got home and had a total of 3 pictures. One of me driving the boat, one of my dad rigging a pole, and one of the dog.

Muley7mm I grew up in Bluffdale in the 70,s when it was a small town and left when it wanted to get big, I'm out in fruitland know and like it small I remember when herriman was small, played ball in the church, but you being from a larg city, dont expect small towns to have every thing your depended on in a big city, remember to prepare for these things, and if you ever get into a spot like that again, call me and will go fishing
