Any Keystoners Here Yet?

Postby CockyBondu on Sun Aug 17, 2008 9:15 am

I'm up in the northcentral part of the state. I fish the Pine, the Alleghenny, the Genny, the Kettle and a bunch of other smaller class A streams. Anybody else here yet?

I live and fish in SEPA, but I also fish in the poconos on occasion... my favorites places in SEPA are Green Lane Park, Evansburg park, and then my parents have a house in the poconos and they have a stream in the back that gets stocked... I fish that for trout in the spring, and then for bass and pickerel in the summer... pickerel are a blast to catch on light gear!

Yes I am a Keystoner! Fish the Delaware, The Lackawanna, the Tunkhannock creek, Bowmans and the State College area (Fishing Creek, Spring Creek, The Little J, Penn's )and my son sneaks up north to hit the Salmon River.

Speaking of the Keystone State and winter fishing I have a question. We fish all year C&R. We know of a few steams that you can fish all year (There are only 3 where we live) but after talking to a Fish and boat commision employee they said if we fished anywhere and didn't keep them in our possession that she really couldn't say we were doing anything wrong. My main question in the interest of the trout and their spawning habits when and where should you fish when the season ends and you still fish without keeping any?

Catching trout in the pocono's. The water is higher and fishing is fun with more aggressive strikes,
