Noodling

Postby 79Ford on Sat Aug 16, 2008 11:32 pm

I saw this form of fishing on TV a while back and think it would be a blast. Anyone on here ever do it? For those of you not familiar with it, here's a video.

Sorry no I heven't but man you have to have nerves of steel to do this I would think. Some of the shots I saw on an oudoor show were of bank holes and lgs that they said could contain snapping turtles or cottonmouths.......yeesh! I'll just remain a cowardly flyfisher thanks! :)

I saw a spot on this on Dirty jobs... it was on catfish noodling... I don't know how they do it with snappers and water mocs all over... not to mention gators... nerves of steel I guess

I can only imagine having a monster cat swallow your arm up to the elbow. Now that would be an addicting sport right there. Granted after a few years of doing it you might have a few less fingers, but like i said before I'd love to try it.

I have a buddy who travels to Oklahoma once a year to visit friends/family... and go noodling. He loves it, but those big cats can rip your arm up pretty good I guess!

It might look fun but I am not sticking my hand in a hole If I do not know what is in there! I like my fingers!

Pretty crazy, probably is fun though...but doubt I'd do it.

I have seen it on TV and just could not put my hands where I can't see what else is about. Snakes totally freak me out. Definitely when I have snake dreams I know I'm stressed. Would love to see a tournament however! I live a little too far north but if I'm ever in the area where they have one I'm going!!!
