Never Fly'd, how do I get started?
I am more concerned about learning how to fly fish... casting, the art of it, the science behind it. Are there any good books? dvd's? are there recommended learning locations? My sister's boyfriend offered to teach me, but I don't know much about it and don't want to look like an idiot. I would be primarily going for trout or bass or blue gills

First of all do not worry about looking like an idiot. All of us started somewhere and we all have 'those" days.
If you have access to a flyshop that offers lessons that might help because you will probably not know anyone there.
Take it from me, I was self taught in the early '70's and it was no picnic, I spent way more time learning from books than I did fishing. I had no access to classes etc.
The shop can help you get set up with an affordable outfit and advice. Barring that go to YouTube and type in fly castin, there are lots of brief tutorials there as well....Kerry

Not sure where your from, but for here in Utah I just "googled" "utah fly fishing" and found a link with all of the fishing specialty shops in Utah.
http://www.xmission.com/~amundsen/shops.htm
I'm sure you can find a similar list for your area.

Google the Federation of Fly Fishers and look for a club in your area. They usually have lessons and classes taught by club members.
