For flyrods. For those who do not flyfish and wish they could find a decent spinning or casting rod, you can also find kits or components for building your own rods. The advantages are that you can custom space your guides, add some exotic woods and top grade cork as well as build on a great selection of blanks. Saving money may be an aspect but building a rod to your secs and customizing it is what attracts most people.
I have built some nice ultr-light spinning rods out of flyrod blanks as well.

L-O-V-E rod building! At the present I'm refurbishing an old Granger bamboo fly rod. It's a 9' three piece rod with an extra tip. I'm making a 6' banty out of it. After removing the old hardware and stripping off the varnish I found that the cane is in pristine condition.

Whenever I need a psychiatrist, I go fly fishing, holding a boat to be superior to a couch any day of the week. --Havilah Babcock
