That's my dream vacation right there. Mix in some salmon fishing and some caribou and moose hunting and I'd be in heaven. My dad worked up there about 15 years ago sinking a mine shaft. He'd go up for 3 weeks and get a week off. He'd come home with boxes and boxes of fish packed with dry ice. Mostly salmon, but he did catch a few nice 40+lb Halibut. Said he just about threw the boat captain overboard when he pulled in his first one at 10lb and he picked it up and threw it back. It was bigger than anything he'd caught before and thought he had a trophy.

I guess a little while before my dad was up there a guy caught a 100lb halibut. He was out by himself in a small boat. He got the fish in the boat, but failed to kill it first. The fish flopped around so much that it killed the guy. Many other boats have had the bottoms broken out of them by a flopping fish. I'd still love to do it though.

When did you go do that Brett?

That's awesome. I've only been to Alaska once back in '95 on my honeymoon. Only got 1/2 day of guided fishing in on the Kenai. It was incredible. Looks like you had a great time. How can you not in that great state.

Congrats,
